About ESST
peace and justice

Awaken the Soul of Africa inculcates and reaffirms values that have been lost along the way; values of tolerance, respect, honour and dignity.

The primary goal of this project is to inform and educate South Africans about the primary need for a community driven renaissance of values and culture. We received funding in 2007 and again in 2008.

This project was conducted in partnership with faith-based organizations and the South African Police Service.

Restorative Justice sees justice as a process of healing and restoration involving everyone affected: victim, offender, family and community. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the process of restorative justice as an alternative or in addition to criminal justice. We worked closely in cooperation with the Department of Juttice and Constitutional Development, community leadership, traditional leaders as well as a host of churches and NGOs active in this field.

Essential to our relationship with God through Jesus Christ is a sound knowledge of the Bible. Luke’s Gospel and his second volume Acts has been described as the most comprehensive and inclusiveof all the Gospels – it emphasises discipleship and community. This project is a community-based approach to becoming a disciple of Christ. It is aimed at people in rural areas and informal settlements and will be implemented through churches and church ministries.
